Outdoor Dining

The client brief:

The garden was originally designed around a family with a large open lawn area and narrow borders around it consisting of tough shrubs. The clients wanted to have a more interesting garden with an emphasis on a large enough area for regular outdoor dining and BBQ’s. They also required several alternative seating areas. They also wanted to screen the existing shed.

The solution:

A garden design based on a series of segments set at an angle radiating out from one point to create wide borders. Various focal points were created using an Oak pillar and planting which repeated up the garden to draw the eye around the scheme. A slightly lowered intimate seating area was created near the house for convenience surrounded by beautiful planting. Another shaded seating area was created beneath the trees at the end of the garden and another on the other side of the house. The lawn shapes enabled much more generous planting to be incorporated into the design and made the garden feel bigger due to the angles used.

Feedback:

We were fully involved in the process during the planning and design stage and throughout the progress of the work. All the staff were friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable and took our ideas into account and were willing to make changes during the work. We are delighted with the final product and would certainly recommend.
